Who are we?
The Creative Angels Fashion Benefit began in February 2012 as an initiative to raise funds and awareness for disadvantaged youth in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded by Prenessa Nalliah, the initiative expanded to achieve international recognition within only a few months - now being followed by various well-known creative and performing artists across the globe. The CAFB holds South African youth at its core, from deterring deviant behaviour such as violence, substance abuse and promiscuity to recognising and actively promoting natural talent within its fast-growing international network. Focus is placed on self-belief and perseverance, with a dynamic team giving everything to the project to develop and sustain positive and righteous attitudes within the participants. The CAFB encourages youth to develop all areas of life - physical, social, intellectual, spiritual and emotional - without excessive pressure, thus creating well rounded individuals, capable of creating and succeeding at their own opportunities. Furthermore, the CAFB's funds are all directed into a social investment programme for toddlers and adolescents across South Africa. The project hopes to provide more than just classroom education, in recognition that it is impossible to teach a hungry child. The CAFB hopes to provide additional academic and emotional support, grocery funds, uniforms, books and stationery for a growing number of children in need, over the coming years, expanding into other areas of South Africa and eventually to other countries as well. Having gained significant celebrity support, the CAFB has been grateful for encouragement and contributions from SA entertainment icon, Soli Philander, multiple pageant winner and brand ambassador, Raksha Gosai, former Mr India SA and current presenter of Mela, Tevin Naidu, as well as supermodels and Bollywood actors, Muzamil Ibrahim and Pravesh Rana, even welcoming the likes of talented UK rapper and model, Lemoy 'The Siamese' Majen. The CAFB network is rapidly expanding as these young, driven and proud South Africans stand up and make a difference to the nation and the globe.
